Kirsty Buhlert-Smith

Senior Paediatric Neurological Physiotherapist

Working at
Glen Waverley

After graduating from La Trobe University in 2003, Kirsty has been a physiotherapist working between Australia and the UK for over 20 years, most of these working with children with a disability and their families.

She is passionate about understanding each child and their family, building on each child’s strengths, and helping them with their challenges, so they can participate in the everyday activities which matter most to them. She values collaborative goal setting with each child and family, and she uses these goals to shape each child’s physiotherapy support.

Kirsty is dedicated to her professional learning, ensuring that each child receives physiotherapy support which is based on the latest research, as well as her physiotherapy experience, and considering the preferences of each child and their family. She also learns a lot through her role with the Australian Physiotherapy Association’s disability committee.

Outside of work Kirsty enjoys quality time with her husband Clint, their dachshund Eddie, and their family and friends. As well as trying different styles of dance classes across Melbourne
