Klint Kids Provides Hydrotherapy Physio Near You
What is Hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy or Aquatic therapy is a form of physiotherapy which is performed in the water. It uses the natural effect of buoyancy, heat and the resistance of the water to achieve a number of therapeutic effects. It is a great way to create a fun and engaging environment, which helps stimulate your child’s development.
Hydrotherapy can be used to treat many areas of development – from opportunity to move freely and kick, to standing to fitness and endurance.
What are the benefits of Hydrotherapy?
There are many benefits of hydrotherapy for children. Below are some of the main benefits of hydrotherapy physio:
- Relaxing – can help stiffness poor postures
- Pain relief
- Safe movements
- A fun and engaging environment
- Improve fitness, balance and muscle coordination
A strong advantage of hydrotherapy is the water’s unique ability to cater to all kinds of needs. Water can either assist or resist a movement, so children with more complex neurological conditions can move more easily. On the other hand, children that need improvement in strength and stability can train hard while protecting joints.
Equipment can help children with severe physical disabilities with associated stiffness and pain, float on the surface and use the reduction of body weight to explore their full range of movement actively.
How to access Hydrotherapy/ physio
Your child does not need to be able to swim. The sessions are held one on one to ensure your child’s safety at all times.
Once your physiotherapist has identified your child’s needs with an extensive assessment on land, they will evaluate your child’s suitability and safety within the pool, they will create an individual treatment plan that is fitted to your child’s symptoms and condition.
At Klint Kids we want to ensure that everyone has the best possible access to a hydrotherapy program near them. Our therapists work closely together with families to find a hydrotherapy pool near them and help reduce costs by scheduling sessions in the same area where possible. We currently attend pools in Ringwood, Malvern, Casey and Northcote to name a few.
