Kirsty graduated from completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy training in her home city of Auckland in her home country of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Kirsty is a proud kiwi but has spent the last 20 years practicing as a Physiotherapist in Australia. Kirsty spent the first 7 years of her career working in the North West of Tasmania where she worked in rural and remote hospitals supporting the top third of the state. Kirsty worked in club foot clinics, orthopedic clinics, cystic fibrosis as well as in early childhood intervention and schools of special education alongside other allied health. Kirsty started her clinical educator journey in Tasmania and thoroughly enjoys teaching students both in Physiotherapy and other allied health professions all about the wonderful world of Paediatrics she continues to build relationships with both Monash and Federation Universities as a Paediatric Clinical Educator.
Kirsty moved to Melbourne in 2012 and worked for 9 years in private practice with specialties in paediatric orthopedics, dancers, gymnasts, cheerleaders and pilates as well as supporting children with developmental delays, equipment needs and neurological conditions.
Kirsty has spent the last 5 years working in not-for-profit organizations alongside large transdisciplinary teams in the key worker model which has given her a well rounded, family centred and collaborative approach to interventions and support.
Kirsty performs in musical theatre productions all over Melbourne and has completed training in Theatre, Dance and Vocals. Kirsty is an ex national level swimmer and triathlete and a proud Mum. In her spare time, Kirsty plays piano, creates props and is studying SFX makeup as well as a huge self confessed nerd involved in multiple Dungeon and Dragons campaigns with a love of Studio Ghibli, video games and pop culture.
