Maria graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours), and brings with her specialist skills gained over her many years of work experience. Having worked with both children and adults across not-for-profit and private organisations, Maria displays a passion for working in the disability sector and advocating for her clients.
Maria realised at a young age that she wanted to work with children. Her journey of working as a primary and high school tutor, and a mentor for disadvantaged school students through Monash University, led her to a career in Paediatric Physiotherapy. Maria enjoys working with young children and families to achieve their goals and build parent capacity. Maria’s experience working as a Key Worker allows her to use a holistic approach to address families’ goals. Maria considers herself to be a “life-long learner” and has sought out several professional development opportunities over the years to keep her knowledge up to date.
Outside of improving the lives of young children and nurturing her career, Maria spends her time on an eclectic mix of activities. Apart from recreational pursuits such as Bollywood dance, venturing out for hikes and strength training at the gym, Maria loves singing and is an active member of her church choir. She is also fluent in Malayalam, and knows basic Hindi.
