Helen Hunter

After qualifying as a Physiotherapist in 2003, Helen gained a wide range of experience in the UK working in a large teaching hospital before specializing in paediatrics for the last 15 years. Helen has worked across a broad range of paediatric areas throughout the inpatient and community setting, including special educational schools, Cystic Fibrosis clinic, hydrotherapy and general outpatients. Helen moved to Australia in 2009 and has continued to work in paediatrics at Eastern health, supporting families and team members in Healesville, Yarra Junction and Maroondah. This will continue to be her home visiting area.

Helen has an interest in treating developmental delay and the early diagnosis of infants and young children, but her broad knowledge means she can support all movement difficulties.

Helen has always worked collaboratively with families and other health professionals to achieve the best outcome for every child. She is the mother to 4 young children so understands the complexities of a busy family life and making treatment flexible and adaptable to be functional and effective within your family and lifestyle.

In her spare time, Helen is heavily involved in organising local and state level downhill mountain bike racing and travelling around regional Victoria to support her family racing.
